Octavia Byrd

Octavia Byrd is a passionate painter, educator, and mentor whose love for art extends far beyond the canvas. With years of experience teaching and inspiring students, she creates a supportive and empowering environment where creativity can thrive.
Octavia spent five years as a manager and instructor at Muse Paintbar. She also works with middle school students through the nonprofits Hartford Performs and LiveGirl, where she serves as a confidence coach for young girls. Additionally, she is a visiting artist at McDonough Middle School, further enriching young minds through artistic expression.
A lifelong artist, Octavia has been painting and drawing since childhood. She holds a BA in Studio Arts from Western Connecticut State University, specializing in acrylic and oil painting. Her work is deeply rooted in color, texture, and storytelling, reflecting her personal connection to art as a form of expression and exploration.
Currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Studio Art at Western Connecticut State University, Octavia continues to refine her craft while inspiring others to embrace their creative potential.
